Jimmy signs for Gibson Guitartown Auction

Jimmy Page has signed a special GIbson SG O2 guitar depicting a painting of the 02 Arena to auction for the Gibson Guitartown Auction alongside a host of other guitars including a 10 ft replica Les Paul signed by Robert Plant.

The auction to win these guitars will take place on Tuesday 20th November between 6.30 and 10.30pm at the IndigO2 at The O2 Arena in London.

Music monthly’s come up trumps

Most of the music press monthly’s feature Led Zeppelin heavily this month in the build up to the show and DVD and CD releases. The best three being, Mojo with a interview all three members of Led Zeppelin in a 17 page special, Classic Rock, with its Led Zeppelin 3 album design cover has an interview with Jimmy it’s special collectors edition and Guitar World has the most in depth interview with Jimmy plus a piece on Zep on the road in ’73.

A radio station based in the USA has started to play Led Zeppelin music 24 hours a day 7 days a week and will continue to do so for the next year. So another compilation lands – this one though arrives at a time of great significance and is very welcome in the Lewis household and I‘m sure yours too.
It’s timely reminder of just what all the fuss is about.
At work, I’ll be enjoying racking up yet another milestone Zep release for retail consumption – by my reckoning it’s about the14th official Zeppelin album I’ve enjoyed ripping out the box and putting on the shelves in my 33 year retail career stretching back to the magnificently packaged Physical Graffiti.

Jimmy talks about THAT finger

In a report from Monday’s Classic Rock Awards in London, the Daily Mail revealed the following:
Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page has reassured fans he is making a speedy recovery after fracturing his finger. 
The recent accident caused the postponement of the band’s eagerly awaited first concert in two decades. 
Page, 63, who was honoured with a Living Legend Award at the Classic Rock Roll of Honour awards in London last night, told BBC Radio 5 Live he was walking in the dark when he tripped over a stone slab.

To launch the Mothership album, NME.com reported that a series of images were due to be projected onto various landmarks around the capital on the night of November 5th. The projections could be seen at the following locations:

A message from Jimmy to O2 ballot winners…

Jimmy has forwarded a personal message via email to all 02 ballot winners which can also be seen at the ledzeppelin.com site.
It reads as follows: 
“As you all know by now I was regrettably put in a situation where I had to postpone my performance at the Ahmet Ertegun Benefit show, on November 26th, due to a fractured finger. Ahmet Ertegun Tribute Concert postponed until Dec 10th

The Ahmet Ertegun Tribute Concert, originally scheduled for Monday, November 26th and featuring Led Zeppelin, Bill Wyman and the Rhythm Kings, Paul Rogers, Paolo Nutini, and Foreigner has been postponed until December 10th due to Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page fracturing his finger.
The injury to Page’s finger, which was sustained this past weekend, will not allow him to play guitar for 3 weeks.
The specialist treating Mr. Page said, “I have examined the fracture to Mr. Page’s finger, and it is my opinion that with proper rest and treatment, he

Jimmy Page is due to be honoured at this year’s Classic Rock Roll Of Honour Awards. He is due to receive the Living Legend award on November 5th at The Landmark Hotel in London.

Raising Sand has been enjoying massive first week sales and looks set to enter the US Billboard chart at number 2. A similar position is also likely in the UK. 
Robert and Alison were due to appear on the Mark Radcliffe and Stuart Maconie radio show on October 30 at 8:00pm on BBC Radio 2. The show normally has a listen again feature on-line, allowing you to catch the show if you miss it first time round.
They are also lined up for TV appearances on BBC2’s Culture Show and BBC Breakfast.
