This week of 46 years ago saw Led Zeppelin on a real high – and thankfully these performances in Seattle and Vancouver have been captured on tape across countless bootlegs…
These are amongst my favourite Zep performances and listening to them this week has been an absolute joy. This was the prelude to Earls Court and they were just on firing on all cylinders……

John Paul Jones – Them Crooked Vultures Live Stream in support of Teenage Cancer Trust on October 16:
Previously unseen footage of Them Crooked Vultures performing at the Royal Albert Hall in 2010 will be streamed on YouTube on Friday October 16 at 10pm. This is in support of the Teenage Cancer Trust.

Roy Williams…RIP:
I am so very sad to hear the passing of Roy Williams aged 73 – the long-time front of house sound engineer for Robert Plant and many others – and an integral part of the Midlands music scene for many decades.

Michael Putland 1947 – 2019:
I was very sad to hear the passing of another iconic rock photographer Michael Putland aged 72. During the 1970s, his work was a staple feature in the UK music press. When I was editing the Five Glorious Nights Led Zeppelin at Earls Court 1975 book for Rufus Stone I had access to his amazing Led Zep Earls Court photos many of which were featured in the book – including the cover shot .
