Picture the scene.
A backstreet pub in downtown Bedford last Friday afternoon.
In comes the weekly karaoke team to set up their 4 to 7 pm slot.
I’m there with my good friend Max about four pubs in on our annual bike ride pub crawl. The Karaoke leader kicks off with Bolan’s Get it On.  Another chap gets up to deliver The Eagles Already Gone. The 40th Anniversary Led Zeppelin Convention staged by Boot- Led Zeppelin is set to take place on Friday November 7. The venue is the Fairfield Halls Croydon. 
Leading tribute band Boot – Led Zeppelin will be the main live attraction . The early evening will include guest speaker slots, Zep footage on the big screen and more. Jimmy Page along with The Edge and Jack White was in attendance at a premiere screening of the new rock documentary It Might Get Loud in Toronto last week.
The film examines the journey of the electric guitar as told through the three guitarists respective careers. The film also has footage of the three together jamming on a sound stage in Los Angeles including a performance of Zep’s In My Time of Dying.

It’s been something of a whirlwind couple of weeks – loads on at work – Sam preparing for UNI, Adam back on the football pitch (in the pre season friendly he looked well sharp with a play maker role looking promising). Two weeks ago was the good lady Janet’s birthday and a lunchtime Sunday roast family meal out was most enjoyable. JPJ, Jimmy & Robert pick up GQ Led Zeppelin Outstanding Achievement Award

John Paul Jones, Jimmy Page and Robert Plant were in attendance at the annual GQ Men of The Year Awards in London on September 2. They were on hand to receive Led Zeppelin’s Outstanding Achievement award presented to them by Dave Grohl.

I have a fair few autographed items by Robert Plant in my collection – but pride of place goes to something he signed for me on a piece of Plaza Hotel paper a few hours after Led Zeppelin’s concert at the Festhalle Frankfurt on June 30th 1980.
It says simply ‘’It works…contrary to public opinion – Robert Plant’’
That statement might be something of a mantra to his life.
A life that today reaches the milestone age of 60.
Public opinion has not always lent its ear easily to Robert Plant’s single minded musings. …
