Jimmy Page – Lucifer Rising And other Sound Tracks: The TBL Review
Well it isn’t Outrider 2, but then again it was never intended to be. What we have here is something of a previously unheard missing link in the compositional history of Jimmy Page.

It was sad to hear the news yesterday that the founder of the iconic Marshall amplifier, Jim Marshall had died at the age of 88. There is something if a local connection here as the Marshall HQ is a few miles down the road at Bletchley in Milton Keynes.
Our good TBL friend and associate Michaela Firth who lives nearby, was at the factory yesterday to pay her respects –Michaela commented on Facebook:
”Very sad to hear about the passing of Jim Marshall, a bit of a local legend where I live. …

The posting on Jimmy’s site today regarding the Page & Plant appearance on Chris Evans’s TFI TV show on this day in 1998 prompted me to dig out the Mad Month of March text from TBL 13.
This chronicles an intensive period that saw them perform in Istanbul, the showpiece Shepherds Bush gig plus appearances on Top of The Pops and TFI Friday. Looking over the typically passionate heart on the sleeve DL prose re-presented here, this really was a joyous period. It’s also hugely nostalgic reading on many levels and is a stark reminder …

It may not be quite like the old days of handing cash over the counter, but I have to say there was something quite exciting about ordering the Jimmy Page Lucifer Rising And Other Soundtracks LP online this week. The prospect of being in possession of a new Jimmy Page album, albeit one that revisits a previously unfinished picture is a mouth watering one. Lucifer Rising has long since been a mysterious lost project in the Jimmy Page catalogue – the fact that it has been restored and revitalised by …

The third and final part of the TBL Physical Graffiti 37 years Gone Archive Special presents a perceptive overview by Ron Ross published in Phongraph Record March 1975. It was back in early March in 1975 that Led Zeppelin announced they would be playing three shows at Earls Court in late May with tickets to go on sale on March 15. I can still remember the mass exitement of seeing the NME, Sounds and Melody Maker on the news stands – each headlining the announcement. Also out in the UK that week was the …
