BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION VOTED BAND OF THE YEAR, RECORDING SECOND ALBUM AND GERMAN TOUR DATES ANNOUNCED
Black Country Communion were voted the Planet Rock Band Of The Year last week stealing the title away from regular winners Iron Maiden, who were second followed by Muse and Slash. Planet Rock commented “The first rule of supergroups is that they must be a crushing disappointment. Black Country Communion obviously didn’t get the memo and despite playing just two unbelievable concerts this year they have beaten several very big bands to win this category by some margin. An excellent album, several musicians at the top of their game, and a bunch of songs that put the classic in classic rock. More please. Much, much more”. Planet Rock listeners also voted Joe Bonamassa the Live Act Of The Year.
The band begin recording there follow up album this week at Kevin Shirley’s recording studio in Malibu. Glenn Hughes and Joe Bonamassa have spent the last few weeks writing new material with Jason and Derek in Malibu. Likely release date is June 2011 to co- incide with their summer tour. The award is totaly deserved. The album and live shows were the best thing to come out of 2010. Hope it’s not too long till they’re back in the UK!
Great for BCC. Though that puts to bed any thoughts that I had that they might perform at Zep Fest 2011.
