BUDDY MILLER AND ROBERT PLANT COLLABORATION:
Band of Joy guitarist and producer Buddy Miller tells Rolling Stone that Robert Plant visited his home studio in Nashville last year for a casual joint songwriting session that proved fertile, yielding an inspired batch of songs that the pair quickly recorded with Band of Joy drummer Marco Giovino.
“We didn’t mean to, but we sort of wrote a record’s worth [of material] and I said, ‘While we’re doing this, why don’t I put up some mics and document it,’ because that’s better than just trying to remember it or record it on your phone,” Miller explains. “And it sounded so good I think we, you know, accidentally made a record.”

JOHN BONHAM DRUM KIT AT HARD ROCK CAFE LONDON:
Here’s a nice on from Krys Jantzen
Dave, just back from annual Halloween party at the Hard Rock Cafe in Piccadilly and came across Bonzo’s drum kit with a nice backstory from Robert I hadn’t noticed before.
Photo: Bonzo’s kit with pumpkin!
Text: In Robert Plant’s words “When Bonzo was playing this kit in the 70’s he would shout ‘Here come the cannons!’. John sold me these drums for $500 despite the fact they had been a promotional gift from Ludwig and cost him nothing! Good humour, good times, good music”.

The deluxe “Celebration Day” package looks very beautiful. I can`t wait to have it in my hands… Saw the movie for the second time last night (midnight)during the second and last screening schedule here in Brasil. The cinema at Barra da Tijuca, the same district where Plant played, was only half full. It´s really a pleasure see it and each time we watch, we discover and enjoy something new. At the end I noticed that some foreigners were at the cinema. The most dificult thing is accept that Jimmy did such an unforgetable and remarkable performance and it was his only full concert in the last 11 years – counting the last one the show he made with Plant at Montreux in july of 2001 clocking only 38m. If we consider a really full concert, we will have to return to JP & Black Crowes and the O2 arena was his only one in 12 years and a half… We miss you on stage Jimmy !!!
HEY!! why no one asked about the lack of tracks from the album IN THROUGH THE OUT DOOR??why did not play a single song especially …Carouselambra????why do not you ask dave?WHY??
best regards!
Its a parsons _ white B string bender. It connects to the guitar body strap knob so if he pulls down on the neck, the b string changes tone. It was on his brown telecacter he played throughtout the Firm days and on a few Gibsons in the Outrider days. You can hear it front and center on the live in Peace.
This fantastic version of Kashmir makes my blood tingle!….. Roll on the 23rd!
Ta for the Kashmir clip – awesome.
Does anyone know the function of that small round stop on Jimmy’s LP next to the bridge? It looks like the (conventionally)G-string is attached – some special retuning device?
And much ta for another countdown Dave. Exciting!
Leave your response!
