Jason & Debbie Bonham on stage together
On Saturday 27th September, Jason Bonham joined Debbie Bonham on stage at the Kiddieminster Town Hall as part of the Kidderminster Music Festival 2008. Thew evening kicked off with musician Kevyn Gammond under his pseudonym, Carlisle Egypt, Kevyn will be remembered as a member of The Band Of Joy and Priory Of Brion, he was joined on stage by Verden Allen, who was Mott The Hoople’s original keyboard player, they played what was described as “an interesting set of avant garde and futuristic music which everyone seemed to enjoy”. Debbie Bonham set featured new and old material and at one point was joined on stage by ex-Plant guitarist Robbie Blunt. Before she called upon her nephew Jason Bonham to sing a duet before Jason took to the drums for a rousing finale of Rock ‘n’ Roll. The rest of the evening consisted of a smoking set (the billowing smoke machine triggered of the smoke alarms) from Ian Parker and a headlining performance from rhythm and blues king, Mike Sanchez. Proceeds raised from the event will go to charities The Proton Effect and Spinal Research
