Jimmy Page & John Paul Jones appear with the Foo Fighters

After weeks of speculation, Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones returned to the stage on Saturday night as special guest of The Foo Fighters at London’s Wembley Stadium. This months Rolling Stone magazine features Jimmy Page on the cover, along side Eddie Van Halen, B.B. King and Omar Rodriguez Lopez. Inside, is the magazines top 100 greatest guitar songs of all time. Number 1 was Chuck Berry’s Johnny B Goode, followed by Purple Haze by The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Crossroads by the Cream, You Really Got Me by The Kinks and Brown Sugar by The Rolling Stones. Zeppelin’s Stairway To Heaven was number 8 and Whole Lotta Love was number 11.

To London for the TBL meet – our very own mini Bonzo’s Birthday Party.
Started suffering from a bit of a head cold on Friday and thought I might have to resort to a whiskey or two to get me through the day but managed to shrug it off. The Chandos pub serves some fine real ales and for us lager drinkers the Alpine went down well.

Page, Jones & Bonham set for Foo Fighters appearance?

There are strong rumours circulating that Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones and Jason Bonham will join the Foo Fighters on stage at their June 7 Wembley Stadium gig.
A report in the Daily Star states “He (Dave Grohl) had the night of his life seeing Zep performing together after all these years and was really keen to be involved with them somehow.

Jimmy Honoured by Surrey University

On June 20 Jimmy Page was awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of Surrey. Jimmy was made a Doctor of the University for services to the music industry. The ceremony took place at Guildford Cathedral . Whilst at the ceremony Jimmy signed a guitar to be given away in a competition at the upcoming GuilFest.
In 2003 the university officially marked the appearance of Led Zeppelin at the venue’s Great Hall in October 1968 with the unveiling of a special plaque.
