On Sunday night Robert and the Band Of Joy performed at the Bowery Ballroom in New York to a 500 strong audience in a special album preview show, similar to the one at the Mayfair 1 in London. The Band Of Joy played a full set list which lined up as follows:

Robert Plant’s Band Of Joy album is released in the UK today. It has already garnered some of the best reviews of Robert’s career. I previewed the album here back in August and having lived with it over the past few weeks, I can only add that repeated plays have further enhanced my appreciation of the scope and depth of Robert and the band’s performance.

Robert Plant and The Band Of Joy made a surprise appearance at the Americana 2010 Award Show at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee, last night (9th September).
The band performed a 30-minute performance of songs from their upcoming album including Monkey, House Of Cards, Harms Swift Way, Satan Your Kingdom Must Come Down and We Bid You Good Night at the end of the evenings awards ceremony. You can hear Robert Plants new Band Of Joy CD in it’s entirety on line at the player below. The on line streaming of the album, via NPR will be available until the album’s release on September 14th. Robert Plant will perform on the Monday, September 13 edition of NBC-TV‘s “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon”. The show will air at 12:35 a.m. ET (technically early Tuesday morning, September 14th ), the evening following his New York show.

John Paul Jones made a surprise appearance at the Punkt Festival in Kristiansand, in the south of Norway on Saturday September 4th. John performed a solo piece that was a commissioned work for “Nearly Ninety” – formulated for the choreographer Merce Cunningham’s 90th birthday. He then remained on stage to be joined by Norwegian avant-garde/electro acoustic group Supersilent.
