Robert Plant and The Band Of Joy made a surprise appearance at the Americana 2010 Award Show at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee, last night (9th September).
The band performed a 30-minute performance of songs from their upcoming album including Monkey, House Of Cards, Harms Swift Way, Satan Your Kingdom Must Come Down and We Bid You Good Night at the end of the evenings awards ceremony. Earlier in the evening Robert took to the stage to honor Buddy Miller with the Instrumentalist of the Year award. “We singers, we owe everything to the instrumentalists,” he said.
Robert said during his performance “It’s kind of daunting to play after so much talent, so much skill; I haven’t done an audition in quite awhile. This is it. Thank god Buddy’s here.”
Robert appears at the Bowery Ballroom in New York on Sunday 12th September.
