32 years ago today – August 4th 1979, Led Zeppelin performed the first of two unforgettable concerts in the grounds of Knebworth Park.

At a sun blessed setting in London’s Victoria Park last night, Black Country Communion made a triumphant appearance at the Classic Rock High Voltage Festival.
The remorseless bass riffing of Black Country was met with huge applause from the crowd and it was quickly apparent that this was a band ready to take proceedings up to a level that did justice to the festival name. On Sunday all roads lead to The High Voltage Festival in London’s Victoria Park where Black Country Communion will be making their only UK Festival appearance.
Tomorrow night (Thursday) the power house four piece of Glenn Hughes vocals and bass with Joe Bonamassa on guitar, Derek Sherinian on keyboards and Jason Bonham on drums, will be In Dublin before Saturday’s appearance in Llandudno then the High Voltage Festival on Sunday. Next week they play Leeds (26th), Newcastle (27th), Glasgow (29th), Manchester (30th), followed by a rescheduled show in Stockholm (2nd August), the original show was …

John Paul Jones, along with Seasick Steve made a surprise appearance at the Foo Fighters Sunday night show at the Milton Keynes Bowl. The Them Crooked Vultures band mates, along with Steve performed “Back In The Doghouse”, a track from Seasick’s new album ‘You Can’t Teach An Old Dog New Tricks.’

We said goodbye to Howard Mylett and celebrated his life on a lovely summer’s day in Brighton. I went down on the train with Mark Harrison and we met with Gary Foy and Graeme Hutchinson. The service was a very moving affair – there were memorable photos of Howard placed by the coffin. His niece Emma read a lovely tribute to Howard from his wife Anita. I represented the many Led Zeppelin fans worldwide who have been saddened by his passing in paying tribute to a man who’s …

Robert Plant was honoured at the Montrael Jazz Festival on Friday. On receiving the Spirit award he made reference to John Bonhamsaying – “I always remember what John Bonham told me when I was about 22,” Plant said. “He said `You’re not very good at what you do, but just go out and look good, because it will help us a lot.’”
