The morning after the night before…and that Sunday morning feeling.  Not the start we were looking for. It all  looked so positive after four minutes.. but that optimism soon fell away –  Robert Green’s goalkeeping error was almost beyond belief.  But it happpaned  and we needed to recover. LED ZEPPELIN VOTED THE NATION’S FAVOURITE BAND IN BBC 2 ‘’I’M IN A ROCK’N’ROLL BAND’’ FINALE

Led Zeppelin were offically voted the nation’s favourite  band on the BBC’s “I’m In A Rock ‘N` Roll Band” grand finale on Saturday night beating fellow finalists The Beatles and Queen in a phone-in vote. The show also featured Best Singer, Guitarist,  and Drummer live phone-in votes.  Remarkably  Jimmy Page, Robert Plant and John Bonham were all nominated in their catagories.  John Bonham was crowned top drummer ahead of Dave Grohl and Keith Moon, whilst Jimmy and Robert were runners up  to Jimi Hendrix and Freddie Mercury respectively. BOOT LED ZEPPELIN PERFORMING LIVE ON BBC 2’S ‘’I’M IN A ROCK’N’ROLL BAND’’ FINALE ON SATURDAY JUNE 5TH – TUNE IN AND VOTE FOR ZEP!

ROBERT PLANT NEW ALBUM PREVIEW

Robert Plant’s forthcoming new album, Band Of Joy was premiered at a press launch in London on June 1st.  Robert made a brief appearance at the launch – commenting on the album he said  ”Band of Joy’ was an appropriate title for an amazing group of people who had nothing to lose,”
The track listing includes  Angel Dance, Silver Rider, I’m Falling in Love Again, You Can’t Buy Me Love, Monkey, Satan Your Kingdom, Must Come Down and Even This Shall Pass Away. The album is due for release in September.

JOHN BONHAM CELEBRATED IN SUPERB BBC 6 MUSIC DOCUMENTARY / PLUS GREATEST BEATS ON THE OCCASION OF HIS 62TH BIRTHDAY

Just listened to the John Bonham Story on BBC 6 Music. A Brilliantly put together documentary with moving and perceptive comment from a variety of family, friend’s and fellow musicians.
Dave Grohl’s no frills narration allowed the story to flow easily. From John’s early days there were comments from Bill Harvey, Dave Pegg and Black Sabbath’s Bill Ward.  Robert fondly recalled his first meeting -‘’You are pretty good but you would be better with me as drummer’’, and the hilarious story when the door handle fell off the Band Of Joy’s …

John Paul Jones is a guest on the Shaun Keaveny show over on BBC 6 Music this morning starting at 7am. This is a prelude to the John Bonham Story hosted by Dave Grohl which will be aired later today at 3 pm on the same station. And to finish off this Bank Holiday Monday John Paul Jones and last week’s Jimmy Page interview on the Lauren Laverne show will be repeated at half past midnight.
