Fabulous evening – I don’t think I’ve seen Robert as relaxed and as comfortable within a band.

Dave Rawlings is best known for playing second banjo to his partner Gillian Welch but Dave Rawlings Machine is his opportunity to take charge and, in this support slot to his friends, associates and sometime band mates Old Crow Medicine Show, it looked like he might run away with all the glory.

Robert Plant is born again. Well, okay, perhaps not in the religious sense…. Although in Saturday night’s spectacular showing, he and his magnificent Band of Joy did a fair amount of testifying via some gospel-tinged material.
