April 28 London Gathering Celebrates 30 Years Of Destroyer And Launch Of The New Tight But Loose Magazine

It’s been some time since we staged a Tight But Loose fan gathering, so in conjunction with Julian Walker and Graeme Hutchinson, we have formulated plans for an event to be staged in central London on Saturday April 28.
The day will celebrate the 30th anniversary of Led Zeppelin’s second show at the Richfield Coliseum later immortalised in the various Destroyer bootlegs. Coupled with that, the event will also act as the official launch of the new Tight But Loose magazine with the new issue planned to be ready on the day.
The venue is The Knights Templar Pub in Chancery Lane/Carey Street London W2. The event is Free Admission and we will have our own room in the pub. Kick off is from 3pm to 9pm with food available to 8pm.
During the day there will be all manner of Led Zeppelin 1977 USA tour retro activity with memorabilia displays / music playbacks / quiz etc lined up. More updates on the full itinerary of the day will follow.
This is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate a milestone moment in Zep history, support the launch of the new Tight But Loose magazine and meet likeminded enthusiasts and indulge in the subject that continues to inspire us … all these years on.
It would be great to see many fans in attendance – the venue is in central London with hotels easily accessible.

The venue of the pub can be found at the following link: http://www.beerintheevening.com/pub/s/15/1536/Knights_Templar/Chancery_Lane
For further info email Julian Walker (julianwalker@btinternet.com) Graeme Hutchinson (graeme.hutchinson6@btinternet.com) or myself (Davelewis.tbl1@ntlworld.com)

This is likely to be the only event of it’s kind this year so put the date in your diary now – a famous date indeed – and to get in the mood, I’d advise you become familiar with that great ’77 gig all over again. I’m going to search out my original vinyl box set right now…

More 1977 Retro: Feedback Required!
The April 28 London event kickstarts a wave of Zep USA ’77 30 Years On/ Tight But Loose activity. To that end I am keen to hear from any fan who attended any of the 1977 US shows and would like to share their memories for publication in the next Tight But Loose magazine.
I am keen to have feedback from anyone who has a view on the 1977 gigs/bootlegs etc (ie the great nights/the not so great nights/the set list/the film footage etc). The aim is to hone in on just what made that period so memorable. So if you were lucky enough to attend one of the shows – or have comments and feedback to make please email at the usual address.(Davelewis.tbl1@ntlworld.com)

30 years on the spirit of that remarkable final United States tour lives on…..get ready to be destroyed by Led Zeppelin ’77 all over again….
