Went to see the Vultures at the Hammersmith Apollo on the Friday (18th). Outstanding gig.
It was great to see a band who made it up as they went along, as quite a lot of their songs had extended improvised sections. The rhythm section was outstanding – as you’d expect! And the eye-contact between Dave …

When it was announced that Josh Homme, Dave Grohl and John Paul Jones were teaming up to form a band called “Them Crooked Vultures”, eyebrows were naturally raised.

Jimmy Page was back on a London stage last night for the first time since the Foo Fighters Wembley Stadium guest slot in 2008. Along with producer Davis Guggenheim,
Jimmy was interviewed by veteran DJ Kid Jensen prior to the first UK screening of the documentary It Might Get Loud at the HMV Hammersmith Apollo London premiere.

The day started with something of a co- incidental anniversary for me.
For it was 28 years ago on this date in 1981 my good friend Tom Locke and I left Bedford …

LED ZEPPELIN 02 ARENA TWO YEARS GONE/DL’S TEARS/IT MIGHT GET LOUD/TCV AHEAD

Photo copyright Thinkfarm
Two years gone and it still seems like a dream. Watching the DVD and playing the vinyl and CD’s today reminded me of the surreal feel that surrounded the whole event. Of course I’m taking about Led Zeppelin at the 02 Arena on the second anniversary of what for me will ever be etched on my brain as the experience of a lifetime.  There are some lovely comments on the 02 show by Robert Plant in this months Q magazine. Asked what went though his mind at the …

The Led Zeppelin  02 show was for me was the most anticipated night of my concert going life and it didn’t disappoint and will go down as the best experience to date.
However seeing Them Crooked Vultures in Blackpool last night was something else again. Mind blowing probably best sums it up , The energy and the on …
