John Paul Jones appeared with Sarah Watkins on the Jimmy Fallon show in the US on April 13 performing live in front of a studio audience a version of “Long Hot Summer Day” from Sarah’s self-titled Jones produced album, with Sarah’s brother Shaun and drummer Questlove. I wonder if they realized how close that rhythm section groove was to “When the Levee Breaks.” ?uestlove does Bonham, sorta!
Jonesy sounded great in that segment. Still an amazingly fluid bassist, whose signature continues to be a very relaxed intensity.
Could be his long awaited 3rd solo album, Could be Page, Jones, and Bonham. Could be with Jason to support JP’s long awaited solo album.
According to the blog Lemon Squeezings, Jones was quoted in Women’s Wear Daily as saying that he hoped “to be everywhere this summer” with “a couple of other people” who’ve been “working [with him] on some other music, which is more rock based.”
Anyone know what this is about??
