Rolling Stone reports that Robert and Alison are in the studio working on the follow up to the five times Grammy winning Raising Sand album. It was reported that Raising Sand had a 700% sales increase following the Grammy success climbing back to number two on the Billboard US chart. In the UK the album is set to resurge on the UK chart following a national TV advertising campaign.
I listend to Raising Sand on an airplane. Unfortunately, I didn’t care much for it. Maybe I need to listen to it a few more times to get it. I really don’t dig the way Plant is bringing Zeppelin songs into the shows with Allison. If he doesn’t want to play Zeppelin songs with Zeppelin, then he shouldn’t play them with anyone. Why would he? Does he think these lame versions of masterpiece songs sound better when he greatly alters them and sings them with someone else? Granted, the songs are his, but he supposedly doesn’t want to do Zepplin songs anymore. If he wants to play with her, then he should play the songs they have created and stay away from Zep songs. He is making a joke out of himself by doing these stupid lame versions of the music that transcends all rock music. He might as well do a number from Pictures at Eleven while he’s at it.
