It is truly sad that genuine fans find it so hard to see these guys nowadays. There was the 02 gig where people like Paris Hilton get in but people who’ve been fans for years before she even heard the word “Led” couldn’t get a ticket, and now we have gigs like Gloucester where touts and greedy sellers snap up tickets before fans get a look in. Two gigs – opposite ends of the spectrum in many ways but still both significant events – and the real fans miss out. Again.

So the greedy ones will make a killing on Ebay. So sad that people buy tickets for pure self gain thereby preventing TRUE fans from attending. When will Ebay take action to prevent this? Or are they simply worried about losing money?

On the guildhall facebook page there are loads of comments and photos of the queue for tickets. Seems as though all the eBay tickets may be cancelled and possibly agency ones also. The guildhall don’t seem happy with the situation.

There are 11 bids currently on one eBay sale, but there’s every chance they won’t be valid now, shame the bidders don’t know.

Sign of the times with ticket sales. I just missed out on cup final tickets for liverpool chelsea as I have 4 games on my fancard and not 5, so there is no point in being loyal these days as 40% of cup final tickets have been allocated as corporate sales, and agencies have a load on sale for silly money.

Whatever event it is these days people are being ripped off, unfortunately many of us had paid the over inflated prices so it’s a vicious circle.

Damn. Those tickets must have sold out in less than a minute. I didn’t manage to get one, but I bet Norman Hale will have done!!

Hi Jonathan. Great to see your efforts paid off. Looking forward to hearing about it. And yes Evelyn, agree with you. I saw that programme about tickets on Despatches , I actually prefer NOT to go than pay those prices via the FAN sites. I bought Slash tickets via Hammersmith Odeon site (HMV ) and I’ve been getting emails from Viavago to sell them to them , as they are sold out! If I couldnt go , Id rather give them to someone than give them to that site …although looking forward to seeing him ;0)

In fairness, there was a massive queue at the Guildhall this morning, and the venue did their level best to guarantee us tickets.
But I completely agree, eBay don’t allow the selling-on of football tickets, so why do they permit this despicable form of touting of gig tickets?

It’s a 400 capacity venue, so there were always going to be a lot of disappointed people. Even in the queue, those of us who hadn’t got up at the crack of dawn bit our fingernails until we were actually at the kiosk being sold tickets.

There is no way all those tickets sold out so quickly. Either they were on sale before the date and time advertised or more likely the ticket distributers are making a packet ‘reselling’ the tickets on Viagogo at £260 + and ebay £199 and these tickets were never offered to ‘real’ fans in the first place. This dubious practice has been highlighted over and over again on TV programmes but seems no one seems to have the political will to do anything about it! The RSC have a very simple way of stopping the advertising of their tickets on these sites for enormous profit. They print ‘not for resale at more that its face value’ on the ticket and take anyone to court who tries!

Ive tried to lodge a complaint on the Robert Plant site but dont seem to know how to do it.

Hi all …..hope someone who is a fan got some tickets. We had two iPads , a laptop and a phone ready at 9:50. To buy the four possible tickets and ….honestly to keep two and pass on two to other fans . Got to ‘buy tickets’ page , entered all details and ….sold out by 10:02!!!
Sadly they are already selling on eBay , I’m told for £199.00 a pair

What a shame …although I guess I did get the ‘Golden ticket’ in 2007 so best not moan too much. Hope who did gets them , enjoy and come back and share with us!

Gutted, Tickets sold out in what must have been 30-40 seconds.

  • Evelyn said:

So why was the gig sold out before the tickets actually went on sale??

So back to the future eh ? Whilst better than his ‘Bland of Joy (II)’/Hayseed Dixie effort, why not start over with a Honeydrippers Part 2 ? Far more interesting & a great vehicle to bring Jeff Beck back in again….There again is it too late to get the Led out ? We’d like to think not…..
