TBL COUNTDOWN TO THE LED ZEPPELIN REISSUES – MY WAITING IS OVER…
TBL Countdown to the Led Zeppelin Reissues …my waiting is over…
80 days into the TBL countdown for the Led Zeppelin Reissues, my waiting came to an end yesterday lunchtime when just after 1.30 pm a large parcel arrived via Amazon. This one certainly did not look like it contained casettes….as you can imagine the excitement and anticipation was immense…
I had placed my order for the the super deluxe box sets on the day they were announced…I knew the status of the order was order ‘Despatched’ with an expected delivery date of Monday June 2nd –the official UK release date. I expected them to arrive on the Monday and was quite taken aback when lo and behold, there they were in this large Amazon box. I guess I got lucky in the picking stage.
The unboxing duly commenced and it was just awesome discovering the contents. The super deluxe box sets are a work of art – I’m surprised how sturdy they – they just look absolutely awesome – as I said complete works of art. …..just gazing at them makes me feel forever young because Led Zeppelin have been the soundtrack to my life for 45 years and I’ve been writing about them for the past 30 years – and these reissues as previously mentioned feel like a renewal of the vows I made as a fan all those years back.
Looking at that them now I feel a wave of pride in being a Led Zeppelin fan and I am sure you will feel the same.
I intend to saviour every moment of this exploration of the first three Led Zeppelin Reissues – and that process will unfold over the next day or so…so more of my initial thoughts will follow…and I look forward to hearing your experiences as you receive your copies of the first three Led Zeppelin Reissues over the next few days

Here’s the pics of the grand unboxing here at the TBL HQ…
I pick up mine from HMV. yes the art work amazing I will have to wait to listen to the greatest rock `n` roll band in the WORLD… thanks for sharing your joy opening your magical box sets.
Mine arrived yesterday at work, where the much larger box than yours was just left by the courier at our reception, unsigned for and to my horror the big box was damaged and on closer inspection, so was the Warner box for album III! Also, the big box had been clearly opened as there was somebody else’s paperwork in there – I was in panic!
Took it to my office and closed the door to examine it all a bit more closely and PHEW! the packing inside the Warner box is so good the actual album box was undamaged.
Quality is superb and I am totally happy with my purchase – when are the next ones due out, that’s what I need to know?
Dave – brilliant to see the pics of you unboxing the Zeppelin treasure to share with the TBL universe. I was so thrilled to open my deluxe box sets after getting home from work.
I agree with you, the box sets are fabulous works of art -fantastic quality – can’t wait to listen to all of the timeless magic of I, II and III.
Just found out…Amazon Logistics are “delivering” these boxsets. I’ve got MORE CHANCE of seeing Elvis than having these sets delivered…WHY DON’T THEY USE ROYAL MAIL ANYMORE ?????????????????
Hi Dave can’t wait for our deluxe box sets to arrive, your TBL review of the unboxing just fuels the excitement!!!Can’t wait to spin them at volume eleven ASAP . Love Pete & Liz x
I’m very envious that you received your reissues on Bonzo’s birthday, Dave! But I can think of no more fitting tribute and no better recipient than you. I hope you enjoy the exploration of each individual release as much as you did opening the entire package. That said, the countdown’s now started for Untitled, Houses and Physical!
Hi all. Just a quick heads up. Have Amazon now lowered their price for the super deluxe box sets? This morning they are retailing for £89.99. Hope no one ends up out of pocket.
Brilliant mate! I bet you were careful with those scissors 🙂
Enjoy discovering them all over again – check the Memorabilia credits in the book for LZI – they couldn’t have done it without you!
To everyone who will be waiting for the postie tomorrow, you won’t be disappointed!

I guess ‘cos I’m so far away here in the land of Oz, all I can do is sit and watch as many others receive their box of Led Zep goodies. It is nice to share though so thanks for the pics Dave..I can hardly wait ’til mine arrives..end of June according to Amazon.I’ve got my Neil Young ‘Letter Home’ box arriving in the meantime. Then it’s bread and water for a few weeks and hope nothing else tempting crops up.
Things go better with Dave.
