LED ZEPPELIN APP LAUNCHED:

A new app for iPhone and IPad users has been launched. This Day In Led Zeppelin contains masses of Zep trivia with over 5,000 facts about the band and has been produced by the team behind the This Day In Music website and book of the same name.

“I had the idea of making individual apps for some of the biggest acts in the world, and thought the best one to start with would be Led Zeppelin, because of their iconic status,” said editor of the Led Zeppelin app Neil Cossar . Alongside the gig lists, album reviews and studio details, there is a comprehensive “on this day” section, which offers 365 days of info on all things Zeppelin. For fans that can’t wait to see what happened on a date a month from now, or on their birthday, the app allows them to punch in any date of the calander year. There is also a quiz with hundreds of questions and critiques of every Zeppelin song and album. It allows fans to play any Zep track they own in their iTunes library within the app – or instantly buy any missing track via the iTunes store. The Led Zeppelin app was launched last week and has already proved a big hit  from users.

Neil was lucky enough to see the band in 1972. ‘’ I saw Zeppelin live at the Hard Rock in Manchester when I was 14. They were absolutely brilliant. I can still see them walking on-stage, plugging in and then hitting us with a wall of sound. I remember being at school the following day, my ears still ringing.”

Black Country Communion have confirmed that they will perform on the Main Stage at the celebrated High Voltage Festival on Sunday July 24th in London’s Victoria Park.  High Voltage will be the band’s only UK festival appearance during the summer of 2011.  Other bands confirmed for High Voltage include Judas Priest, Dream Theater, Jethro Tull, and the Michael Schenker Group.

the app’s done nicely with some good content. the quiz is a bit lame and for any serious fan looses its appeal after around 3 goes when 10/10 becomes the norm…but worth the money regardless

The best band in the world get an app, brilliant! Just downloaded and it looks great. You and pick any Zeppelin album and then go to each track where it has the story behind every song, which I’m enjoying. Loads of Zepp trivia as well. Good work!
