There have been plenty of You Tube clips, including this side shot footage from Tulsa of the performances of Over The Hills And Far Away.
Same picture different frame indeed. Also available to view is the Memphis Press Conference at which Robert received a couple of awards. Well worth watching for the question and answer section where it doesn’t take too long for the Zeppelin question to arise, all dealt with in typical Plant style. Robert Plant Press Conference
Them Crooked Vultures play their final dates in Japan at the end of the month, completing a year long run of activity. This has been a very fullfilling experience for the band members and audiences alike. As we have noted before, the decison for John Paul Jones to return to performing in a rock band set up has been inspirational – providing the perfect platform for vast numbers of Led Zeppelin fans to see at first hand what made his role in his previous band so indispensable. Here is a clip from the recent Rock Werchter Festival in Germany, which according to JPJ management was one of the best. Enjoy…
The Jimmy Page photographic memoir book to be published by Genesis Publications has been delayed until September now, with the yet more newly uncovered photos and additional text. Jimmy, back from his travels in Rio, was spotted at the 100 Club checking out Wilko Johnson last Saturday night. Johnson is one of the main artists appearing in the film “Oil City Confidential”, a profile of the late 70s Canvey Island music scene featuring Dr. Feelgood which is out on DVD and well worth checking out. Jimmy has also been involved in the creation and endorsement of the new Rimowa Logo Guitar Case – see http://www.rimowa.de/logo-case/
So good to see JPJ out rocking! Yeah Jonesy!! Compared to what Plant is doing, Jones is still a rock star. Plant always talks about evolving and changing musically, which is cool except he plays Zeppelin songs. He changes them and plays them in ways they were never meant to be. If Plant doesn’t want to perform Zeppelin songs with Zep, then maybe he should leave them as they are meant to be and go on with his evolving!! Or maybe he could change and evolve by creating new music with Zeppelin. What a concept!
