Hey, Robert Plant looks fine as usual. Wish he were mine!!!
I’ve seen this great concert in my hometown … unbelievable, that one original LedZep musician plays in this wonderful open air arena (when I became LZ fan in 1976 it was still East Germany with the iron curtain, I had never expected in these times that such a concert could happen). The concert was sold out, about 5000 spectators. Set list (from my memories … songs are complete, maybe the sequence of songs in the middle section was a little bit different:
What Is And What Should Never Be; Turn It On; Spoonful; Black Dog; Going To California; Rainbow; Down To The Sea; Babe I’m Gonna Leave You; Little Maggie; Funny In My Mind (Fixin’ To Die); You Need Love/Whole Lotta Love (incl. Who Do You Love).
Encores: Nobody’s Fault But Mine; Communication Breakdown.
My personal highlights were BIGLY with this wonderful spanish intro (Robert tried some Fandango-like dance steps, the solo guitar work of Justin in Fixin’ To Die and of course the great WLL-riff.
Robert was in good mood, made a number of comments about football, but cancelled this with the saying: No, this would be like cabaret. You could feel his disappointment with the English football team in the world cup.
All in all a great and wonderful concert, also in the opinion of my 14 year old son.
