This from Don McGeachy
Robert was awesome!! The band was awesome!! The less than full crowd was I would say slow to respond. Every song was great, and done well. The new arrangements on old favorites were cool. The crowd didn’t get the aaahhhh aaaahhhhs on Black Dog at first, but got it the next time around… duh!!

Freedom Fries was excellent, the guitar work was just awesome. I love cranking that tune, but hearing it live WOW!!

An especially awesome Going to California brought a tear to my eye. I am thankful every time I have heard Robert sing that one live, like four times now. The crowd started to kick in on this song, singing along. This was followed by some song about the “north country” that Robert was saying was a Canadian song. He was talking about Canada and it’s contributions to music and mentioned Joni Mitchell and Gordon Lightfoot.

Hey Joe was like the version on Dreamland. Cool to see that live.

Tin Pan Alley off The Mighty Rearranger was really cool. Robert’s voice is still able to go so high, especially on some of those “like this”s on this tune.

Gallows Pole was just awesome. The crowd was really getting going here.

This was followed by what to me was just a most excellent version of Babe I’m Gonna Leave You. This song just blew everyone off their feet. The band was really tight and Robert’s vocals were just totally awesome. Everyone was on their feet after this tune.

The band then said goodbye and walked off the stage.

Minutes later Robert and company come back and do a two song encore of The Enchanter off the new album, and then Whole Lotta Love. Again both just awesome.

Overall… well what we got was totally awesome. However, what we got was rather short, lasting just under one hour and twenty five minutes. If I could say one thing to Robert, this would be it, I felt a little disappointed at the length of the show. Most concerts I have been to (119 in all) with the exception of Springsteen going nuts, have lasted about two hours including encores. An hour and a half just seems a little short.
