This from Darrin Funk
We had a great trip to Germany. On the day of the show we met Robert in a museum in Nurnburg. My wife and I just went in to get out of the cold and to our surprise Mr. Plant was sitting on a couch. There was only three other people in the room and they all worked there. With nobody else around we talked for about 10/15 minutes. He seemed surprised that we came all the way from Chicago for the show. I had some of the House of Blues Pictures at our hotel and asked if he would like them, I was going to try to get them to him at the show anyways. He said he would like them and gave us his production managers name, and said to ask for him at the show. I gave him the picture of him singing and Vedder smiling in the background and the picture of him playing guitar with Stone.
The show at Neumarket was about 45min out of Nurenburg in what looked like a big ski lodge. Mr. Plant seemed to be in a good mood but did not seem to like the crowds attempts at participation. During Black Dog he said “I know the song is old but the words aren’t that hard” after a poor effort by the crowd. He did a long introduction for each member of the band then said “That was a Phil Collins introduction.” He also said they are working on a new album.
