This review from Karem Clapton
It was good to attend yet another show of Mr. Plant. With his goatee his smile is even more electric.
So good to hear a slow version of 29 Palms really warm and beautiful.
Also “Let the four winds blow” and “Friends” added to the whole atmosphere and great to hear live (again)!
“Going to California” can hardly ever be wrong, such a beautiful song combined with the warmth in the Marquee it was hot.
Still I am amazed by the energy and the voice of Mr. Plant, it can take one back decades and one can imagine being in the “present” past!
It nice to hear the beginning of “Whole lotta love”, at first the audience is not quite sure what song follows until they hear the first famous words of the beginning, then they get into a frenzy.
The audience was friendly and received the songs willingly and with genuine enthusiasm.
The audience was a mixture of ages
Can’t wait for Calais (which was so far the best show I have seen. He was very talkative and seemed so relaxed. Speaking quite a bit of French and joking and interacting with the audience. The choice of songs was again great and a pleasure to hear/see live. A real pity the shows don’t last a wee bit longer!) so now it’s on to Colmar on August 13th!
