Reviews:
This from Rob Gilmartin
I brought my son Eric & 2 of his friends to see Mr.Plant & Co. at the Bell Centre in Montreal for my son’s 12th birthday, and what a show it was! The boys wanted t-shirts before the show, but none were available. It seems that a truck was stolen, so there was no merchandise available (E-bay, I guess…)

As I’ve already mentioned, the show was great! The band sounded tight, but obviously were having a really good time. Plant’s voice sounded in form, and he still can hit the notes. He spoke to the crowd in English and French, which was well received. After Freedom Fries, he explained to the crowd that the title was about “Patate Frites” (French Fries). He dedicated Takamba to “The adventures of Mr. Blair and his desperate kingdom” (I don’t know a lot about Your politics but ouch…). After Takamba, I guess that he was expecting a better reception (Me too), so he added “Thanks for the extreme response…your used to watching Leonard Cohen I guess”.
After BIGLY, he just said “C’est tout” (That’s all), and they left the stage. After The Enchanter (My favorite song on the album), again the crowd was a little unresponsive, Plant added “Sometimes we do this all alone”. At the end of Whole Lotta’ Love, during the “Way down inside” part he put the mike to the crowd for the “You Needed” part, and the crowd responded really well, Plant said That’s f**king great!!, At the end of the show, the band left the stage, but Robert stayed behind for a minute or two, thanking the audience. The show started at 8:40, and ended at 10:20.
Montreal is a Zeppelin town. The crowd went absolutely mad for every Zep number that the band did (And did damned well I might add). I think that the show could have been a little longer, but as the saying goes, “It’s quality not quantity”. Even the local daily gave the show a great review!!!. Now about those t-shirts…..
