This from Charles Fontaine
I went to see Plant and the Who on August 28th in Columbus, OH. After seeing Plant in recent years and knowing how he handles himself onstage, I was incredibly excited, and was not disappointed! Plant was just on this night. The set started with a great version of “In The Mood”. What a surprise. It sounded great. I love this new band, but I wish that Jimmy was still up there. And what about John Paul?
I can’t remember the exact order of the songs, but here’s what I can: Four Sticks, Tie Dye on The Highway, Going to California, Babe, I’m Gonna Leave You, Funny In My Mind, Whole Lotta Love, Tall Cool One, Celebration Day, In The Mood, and Morning Dew. I believe that’s all.
One comment that I do recall from Plant is this. Robert said that he remembered playing Columbus with Zeppelin in 1969, and that somebody was landing on the moon. I found this interesting. I guess that you never forget where you were on that day. He also thanked Pete and Roger, his “Old Friends”. The Who rocked by the way. Great night all aroun
