Robert Plant made a surprise appearance at the annual Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival in Golden Gate Park last Saturday. He was a guest of Buddy Miller who was part of last year’s Raising Sand tour. Robert performed a version of Hank Snow’s I’m Moving On. Back in England on Saturday, BBC1’s Football Focus TV programme featured Robert in their weekly ‘’This is my club’’ slot. Last Monday the grey drizzly streets of London in autumn seemed a long way from a summers day in Berkshire back in 1972. However the events of the latter came into clear focus when I spent an evening listening to Eddie, to paraphrase that famous bootleg title. The Eddie in question being Eddie Kramer the renowned veteran studio engineer who worked on a variety of Zep albums.
Eddie was in town to relay some of his personal stories at Metropolis Studios a part of his ‘’Kramer Archives & Waves Signature …

Tragedy Of The Age Web-Site
It was a four hour trip between my home in Pennsylvania and the venue I was headed to in Columbus, Ohio – and while I knew that I had work bright and early the next morning, it was no more than an afterthought as I made the journey to see what I knew to be a rock concert of epic proportions – …

Them Crooked Vultures started early and played long, changing up the setlist from their performance at Stubb’s the night before and leaving a wake of jaws on floors from a crowd that was entirely unfamiliar with their sound. Speaking of sound, they were far and away the loudest band to set foot on ACL grounds thus far. 100 yards away, waiting for the Yeah Yeah Yeahs to begin on the AMD …

October is here and more anniversaries – as you can see on the site, October is Led Zeppelin 2 month around these parts – and maybe yours too.
It’s incredible to think that album has been around our world for nearly four decades – and having just played it for what will be the first of many a Zep 2 related playback over the next month, the effect is still electric.
I’m going to search out all the variations I have and give them an airing over the next month. The …
