Bonzo / Priory / All Pens Blazing

Late September rolls around and thoughts as always drift back to that fateful day all of 29 years ago when everything stopped. John Bonham is still the best and most missed drummer of all time. I’ll be acknowledging that fact with a Bonzo based playlist here over the next few days. Definite inclusions will be Hots On For Nowhere – those last fills are just impossible, Walters Walk – marvel at the way he comes banging right in at .05 seconds, Good Times Bad Times – bass pedals never sounded …

Robert Plant at Rockwell O2 Event

On the spot report from Gary Foy

It has been one year and nine months since Robert Plant last appeared at London’s O2 Arena and boy how things can change over such a short period of time. Back then it was full on pomp and flair with his old cohorts from Led Zeppelin and an amazing night it was too –  tonight was also pretty amazing, but in a very different kind of way.
The Rockwell concert was staged to raise monies and awareness for the Nordoff Robbins music therapy …

TBL 24 Soon / Beatles / Ramble on

Spend the last few days wading through the proofs of the new Tight but Loose magazine. Apologies for the late arrival of this issue but it’s now at the printers and nearly ready to go. Once again there are some great contributions – Mike Tremaglio’s Led Zeppelin US summer of ‘69 festival log clarifies exactly when and where they played outdoors that summer and is a fascinating read. In the Collector Focus spot, Nick Anderson explains how he has come to amass one of the largest collections of Zep singles …
