A week of recuperation while this virus hopefully takes leave, has afforded me the rare luxury of some concentrated listening as opposed to the usual grabbed soundbites via the iPod etc.

Just when we riding on a wave of new optimism, I’ve encountered something of a set back.
One minute I was having a Tight But Loose planning meeting with Martyn and the bruv, when next thing I know, I’m on my way to hospital, brought on by a nasty virus that had me detained overnight for observation. This has since been diagnosed as Viral Labrinthitis, a vertigo related illness that has left me with dizziness, nausea and generally feeling pretty wiped out and having to be off work. Apologies for the lack of diary entry but it’s been hectic here.
Still coming down from what was a truly incredible week of celebrations for my 50th birthday last month. It all started on the Friday with a pub meet reunion of my former soccer team mates The Wallbangers FC (legendary in the late 70’s in this area believe me!). Bit of an unsettling last few weeks what with Jimmy’s decision to pull out of the Clapham Festival – and the very sad news about Paul Kelvie, Arthur Lee and Syd Barrett.
