I am now commencing initial research for the next TBL Publishing project which will focus on Led Zeppelin’s final tour – the 14 shows that spanned Holland, Belgium, Switzerland and Germany to form the Over Europe tour in the summer of 1980.

Them Crooked Vultures, the new Dave Grohl/Josh Homme/John Paul Jones supergroup made their UK debut on Wednesday night in a support slot to The Arctic Monkeys at the 02 Academy Brixton. I have been to many shows at Brixton, but never has queue outside stretched further than last night. It went round the entire venue, good time to have some last pre-gig pints from the off licences we walked past. Inside there was still nothing 100 % confirming their appearance, but asking stewards if it is THEM, the odd chuckle was enough for me. Les Paul, father of the electric guitar and modern sound recording, died on August 13 2009 at 94 at a hospital in White Plains, N.Y. after a bout with pneumonia. Les Paul was a massive influence on generations of guitarists including of course Jimmy Page.
