Just a day before the official release of the Vultures debut album and the beginning of their US tour, the band announced a warm-up gig with just 12 hours notice. The gig at The Roxy in Los Angeles was announced on the bands website with strict instructions, tickets will be available exclusively in-person at the venue on show day. No line-ups prior to 2pm. Ticket holders will be required to enter immediately after purchase. No ins and outs. Tickets are non- transferable. The show will be open to all ages. Box office and doors open at 8:30. Them Crooked Vultures on stage at 10:30

Despite the short notice by 4:30pm the line was around the block and when the box office opened at the allotted time the 500 capacity club was full to the rafters. The hit the stage at 10:30pm with what has been described as a “deafening barrage of pure rock ecstasy that lives up to the archives of praise they’ve quickly amassed in these tubes.” The set list was Elephants / Dead End Friends / Scumbag Blues / Gunman / Highway 1 / New Fang / Caligulove / Bandoliers / Mind Eraser / Daffodils / Interlude w/ Ludes / Reptiles / Nobody Loves Me / Warsaw. Highway 1 is a non-album track and is an eerie, echoing psychedelic whirlwind countering Grohl’s immense pounding and skittering backbeats.  The following night the band kicked off the official tour at Los Angeles, Wiltern Theatre. They then perform on Nov. 19 Oakland, Fox Theatre, Nov. 21 Seattle, Paramount Theatre and Nov 22 Portland, Roseland Theatre.

UK readers should also note that the Crooked Vultures Reading Festival set is due to be aired on Friday night November 20th at 12:50am on BBC 2, lasting forty minutes it should mean a good chunk of the set will be shown.
