Many thanks to all those who have forwarded their Knebworth recollections. This project is moving along well and the aim is to produce a special TBL Knebworth 30th Anniversary publication in book form.
So we URGENTLY need your recollections.
If you were at either of the Knebworth gigs we’d like your memories – How you got a ticket, the journey, the day itself and obviously the performances and your overall impressions. In effect your personal recollections from out in the field 30 years on. Word count 1,000 words or as long …

If it’s generally acknowledged that Peter Grant was the fifth member of Led Zeppelin then Richard Cole was the sixth. I’m in little doubt of that fact having spent a very illuminating afternoon with Richard last week. I caught up with the former Zep road manager to conduct an interview for a US radio station.
He was on great form looking very well and very forthcoming on his role within the band during those incredible years. It wasn’t about all the sex and drugs of which there is plenty in his …

Robert Plant appeared very briefly (waving to the camera) on the BBC’s F1 coverage of the Bahrain Grand Prix during co-commentator Martin Brundle’s pre-race ‘gridwalk’ interviews. Brundle seems to be a fan, mentioning Zep and “Stairway to Heaven”, and looked disappointed as he informed us Robert had decided he would rather not talk on-camera. Brundle moved on to a quick chat with Eric Clapton who said he’d tried his best to get Robert to agree to an interview.

Robert’s appearance at the Abu Dhabi Womad Festival included a mix of cover material and Zep favourites. Together with Justin Adams and Juldeh Camara they performed versions of Black Dog, Win My Train Fare Home, Leadbelly’s and Dylan’s Corina Corina plus Whole Lotta Love and Rock And Roll.

It was back to the scene of those halcyon May days of 1975 last week when I attended the London Trade Book Fair at Earls Court.
The treasured old building still looks much the same from the outside though with the addition of the adjoining Earls Court 2 arena it has increased in size. It was comforting to see that the white surround that separates the tiers was still intact and the big old clock is still in place. Probably not the one of course that seemed to visibly slow as …

Really enjoyed the show. The last time my wife and I together saw Robert was at Knebworth in 1979. We were not at the front then but we were on the beach in Abu Dhabi. The show was relaxed and the crowd were not. They were out to see Mr Plant and they were not disappointed. Some of the Middle Eastern guys knew the words and sang to Rock and Roll. The encore started with Whole Lotta Love and went into something Arabic which they understood and I did not. …

It has been announced that Robert Plant is to join forces with Strange Sensation guitarist Justin Adams and the West African riti (a one-string violin) master Juldeh Camara for the finale of the three day Womad Festival in Abu Dhabi. Around 50,000 people are expected to attend each of the free Womad concerts, which will take place on the Corniche public beach from April 23 to April 25.
The signing of Plant is regarded as a coup for the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage (Adach) and for Womad, …
