As I noted at the Gloucester debut gig , his passion to hop and skip effortlessly between varying musical styles is more than evident, as is the way he deploys his voice as a total instrument. You get the feeling he can move and shake within any band …

DAVE LEWIS DIARY: KNEBWORTH SATURDAY AUGUST 11TH 1979 – 33 YEARS GONE/VINYL//OLYMPICS AGAIN/TBL 33

Another Saturday…another Knebworth anniversary.  33 years ago today Led Zeppelin performed what would be their final UK show at Knebworth Park
To mark the 33nd anniversary I’ve dug out my original August 11th review as initially featured in Tight But Loose issue 3. I can remember writing that as if was yesterday. Rose tinted or not, I stand by every word because that is the effect that it had on us all back then. It could and should have been a new beginning –as it was it became their last hurrah …

DAVE LEWIS DIARY: KNEBWORTH SATURDAY AUGUST 4 1979 – 33 YEARS GONE/OLYMPICS LONDON 2012/ZACRON 1943 -2012/LOOKING AHEAD

The anniversary of Led Zeppelin at Knebworth always resonates that little bit more when it falls on the actual days –as it does this year. Saturday August 4th –just writing that date sends a tingle of excitement because that is the day when it all occurred back in that field just outside Stevenage all of 33 years ago.
Today I, and thousands of other fans will no doubt be thinking back to that glorious day in the summer of 1979 when finally, after all the waiting, Led Zeppelin were back doing …

DAVE LEWIS DIARY: JON LORD 1941 -2012/ ZEP SEATTLE 77/ STONES AT 50/ ROD STEWART/ HEALTH/ RAIN/ RIVER FESTIVAL

Paul Weller, Jon Lord, Robert Plant, Ian Paice – Porchester Halls Sunflower charity jam event – September 14th, 2006.

I was actually off line on Monday due to connection problems and did not see the news until early on Tuesday – it …
