A book covering Jimmy Page early life has been released by a childhood friend of the guitarist. David Williams, from Epsom, is the author of The First Time We Met The Blues, in-which he tells of his friendship with music icons such as Jimmy Page and Mick Jagger. David Williams and Jimmy Page grew up together in Miles Road, Epsom, in the late 1950s, where Page’s first-ever paid gig happened at the Comrades’ Club.

Them Crooked Vultures have streamed their new album on line via their You Tube page. Almost two weeks before the release of the much anticipated debut album, adverts appeared on the bands web-site stating “Fuck Patience, Let’s Dance.” Each of the 13 tracks appears with the album art-work replacing the need of actual video.

As mentioned last week Robert Plant turned up at Francis Dunnery’s end of tour show at The Walls Oswestry Shrophire, on November 6, 2009. Them Crooked Vultures have the track “Mind Eraser, No Chaser” available as a free download for a limited time on iTunes. It’s a trademark Homme/Grohl work out, with squelching guitar that lurches around over big pounding drums. JPJ adds a steady bass line and adds backing vocals.
