Remembering John Bonham 35 years On
Next month sees the 35th anniversary of the untimely and tragic death of John ‘Bonzo’ Bonham, the powerhouse behind Led Zeppelin and arguably the best drummer in the world.
Redditch born John died on 25th September 1980 at the age of just 32 at Led Zep guitarist Jimmy Page’s home near Windsor. Weeks later the remaining band members announced Led Zeppelin would disband.

The final three albums have hit the UK Charts and nearly mirror the first three albums in the series, with two hitting the Top 10 (Coda No.9 & Presence No.10) and one just missing and landing at No.12 (In Through The Out Door).

A photo exhibition ‘Led Zeppelin from the Beginning 1963 – 1975’ is launching this August at the Proud Chelsea Gallery in London.  The exhibition is an exploration of Led Zeppelin’s progression from the musical experimentations of their ancestors,The Yardbirds, to the rock band fronted by Jimmy Page which quickly gained international acclaim. An awesome night in the company of Robert Plant on the second of two summer UK gigs. A intimate crowd of fans, families and children together with an opening act consisting entirely of 11 year olds gave the concert the air of a welcoming British village fete.
