Whoever thought we would see Robert Plant at Gilley’s? You might remember this venue from Urban Cowboy. Imagine it with nothing in it – except a bar, stage, lights and walls of speakers. And unfortunately very little air conditioning. Not because they don’t have it but because someone didn’t get there in time to crank it. L’il Band of O’Gold from Louisiana opened for him. They did a great job, but no one but the Golden God could satiate the crowd. Robert fronted for them at a club in New …

Two years ago on June 19th 2011, Howard Mylett, the legendary Led Zeppelin collector and original author sadly passed way.
I would therefore like to take the opportunity to pay tribute to Howard by reproducing his ”I was There” contribution to the Led Zeppelin Feather In The Wind -Over Europe 1980 book
When I think of Howard, I think of that wry wit, his incredible enthusiasm for collecting all things Zep, and above all, his generosity in sharing that passion and those packages postmarked Brighton that so fuelled my own enthused for our shared …

I counted them all in and I counted them all back out…TBL 35 is on the streets and aside from editing it and writing a fair bit of it, I stuck every stamp and label on, signed and numbered every copy and stuffed them in envelopes and took them to be posted over several trips…and all that effort is absolutely worth it for initial reaction such as this…
Recently subscribed and received mine today. Probably one of the best investments I’ll make this year – Many thanks. Stephen Webb
I’m loving issue …

Yes another a admirable gathering of many drummers paying tribute to the memory of the man they consider the best at his profession.
John’s 65th birthday is an opportunity to once again reflect on his vast contribution in making Led Zeppelin so special. Here are 20 examples of the Bonham craft that I’ll be searching to play over the weekend …

TBL 35 continues to take shape – this week I’ve been working with designer Mick Lowe on the lay out for Mike Tremaglio’s’ extensive chronicle of the 1973 Europe and US part one tour dates. This is a fantastic piece –some 13,000 words that really captures the development of the band when they were on fire in Europe and bigger than ever in America. To compliment the 1973 US tour log, there’s also a three page ‘We were there’’ feature on the Kezar Stadium gig with some brilliant pics and …
