The Martin D28 acoustic guitar owned and used by Jimmy Page and donated by him in aid of the ABC Trust raised a remarkable £21,000 at the Bonhams Entertainment/Memorabilia sale this afternoon July 2nd.

Whoever thought we would see Robert Plant at Gilley’s? You might remember this venue from Urban Cowboy. Imagine it with nothing in it – except a bar, stage, lights and walls of speakers. Jimmy Page has donated for auction the Martin acoustic guitar which he played at the Roy Harper 70th birthday concert at the Royal Albert Hall to the ABC Trust . The guitar is to be auctioned by Bonhams Auctioneers with the proceeds going to Action For Brazilian Children charity.
The auction takes place at 1300hrs on July 3rd.

I counted them all in and I counted them all back out…TBL 35 is on the streets and aside from editing it and writing a fair bit of it, I stuck every stamp and label on, signed and numbered every copy and stuffed them in envelopes and took them to be posted over several trips…and all that effort is absolutely worth it for initial reaction such as this…
