Robert Plant Backs Campaign For PDT Cancer Treatment

Robert Plant is supporting a campaign to help fund a cancer treatment known as Photodynamic Therapy (PDT). The treatment uses a light sensitive drug that when activated by light with pin point accuracy, knocks out the oxygen supply to the tumour just long enough to kill it. The campaign is being backed by amongst others, Roger Daltrey, Chris Tarrant, Harvey Goldsmith, Bill Curbishley, Sir David Frost and Alex Ferguson.

John Bonham Tops Drummers Poll

The monthly magazine Drum & Drummer has conducted a poll of the top 50 Greatest Drum Albums of all time and unsurprisingly John Bonham via Led Zeppelin dominates the chart with five albums in the top 50.
The Led Zeppelin fourth album tops the chart above Abbey Road. Physical Graffiti is at number 3 while “the TBL album of the month” Led Zeppelin 2 comes in at number 6. Led Zeppelin first album is voted number 14 in the chart with Houses Of The Holy clocking in at a respectable number …

Jimmy Page At Mott The Hoople London Reunion

Jimmy Page was in attendance at the Mott The Hoople October 2 show at London’s Hammersmith Appollo. He received a name check from Ian Hunter during the show. The reunited Mott line up includes ex Bad Company guitarist Mick Ralphs.

John Paul Jones At Austin City Limits With The Vultures And Sara Watkins

John Paul Jones was busy last weekend at the Austin City Limits Festival. On Thursday Them Crooked Vultures performed a warm-up at Austin “Stubbs” club before moving onto the festival itself, held in Austin’s Zilker Park on Friday. In the afternoon JPJ complete with mandolin, joined Sara Watkins onstage for the ballad All This Time, a bluegrass hoedown of Hold What Ya Got, and Long Hot Summer Days.

Robert Plant At Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival

Robert Plant made a surprise appearance at the annual Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival in Golden Gate Park last Saturday. He was a guest of Buddy Miller who was part of last year’s Raising Sand tour. Robert performed a version of Hank Snow’s I’m Moving On.
