TBL NEWS ROUND-UP: MORE BAND OF JOY US DATES & DAILY MAIL ALBUM OF THE YEAR, BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION UK DATES REMINDER, MORE BONZO US TRIBUTE SHOWS, JIMMY PAGE BOOK ARRIVAL UNVEILING

Robert Plant and The Band Of Joy have added two extra dates to their forthcoming North American tour and have also announced their first festival date in the US for 2011. The additional dates  are for New York’s Beacon Theatre on January 30th and a second show at the Sony Centre in Toronto on Janaury 23rd.
The festival date is at the 38th Annual Telluride Bluegrass Festival, held in Telluride, Colorado over the weekend of June 16th– 19th. Tickets are now on sale. More summer dates are expected.

Bonham’s the auctioneers are staging their latest  Entertainment Memorabilia sale  in Knightsbridge on December 15th and have a variety of Led Zeppelin related items on offer.  The lead item is a rare  acetate of  Memory Lane- an original composition recorded by The Band Of Joy. This was one of  four songs recorded at IBC Studios in Portland Place in London in early 1968 .The session  included  covers of Billy Roberts’ ‘Hey Joe’, Buffalo Springfield’s ‘For What It’s Worth’ and two original compositions, ‘Adriatic Sea View’ and ‘Memory Lane’. Robert Plant & The Band Of Joy took part in the final  show of the current series of BBC2’s Later With Jools Holland last night. They appeared alongside Arcade Fire, soul legend Mavis Staples, Nashville four piece Mona, Adele and Indian folk singer Raghu Dixit.

ROBERT PLANT & THE BAND OF JOY ANNOUNCE US TOUR FOR EARLY 2011

Robert Plant and the Band of Joy have announced a 15 date North American tour for January and February 2011. These are the first dates in the US since the 12 date tour in July and the one-off New York show in September.
The dates include a two night stint at the War Memorial Auditorium in Nashville.
The dates are as follows:
January: 18: Thomas Wolfe Auditorium, Asheville, N.C.
January: 19: Peterson Events Centre (University of Pittsburgh), Pittsburgh, Pa.
January: 21: Hill Auditorium, Ann Arbor, Mich.

ROBERT PLANT & THE BAND OF JOY ON BBC 2 LATER WITH JOOLS HOLLAND THIS WEEK

Robert Plant and The Band Of Joy continue their European promotional tour with an appearance on Later With Jools Holland this week.
The show is aired live from 10pm on Tuesday night (November 16th) on BBC2 for half an hour. The complete show is then broadcast on Friday night (November 19th) from midnight and repeated on Saturday evening (November 20th) at 11.20pm. All are UK timings on BBC2.
