The first time I remember discussing the new band being formed by Dave Grohl, Josh Homme, and John Paul Jones, was in the back of the car as we travelled to the Lytton Arms for the Knebworth book launch last August. My good friend Tom commented it could be a band worth ‘’pitching up for’’ to use one of his expressions.
Indeed it has been.
These past few months tracking the progress of Them Crooked Vultures has been an absolute  joy – and in a parallel perhaps to that of Robert’s Priory …

Them Crooked Vultures appearance on the Zane Lowe Radio 1 show live from the Maida Vale Studios on Wednesday night included live performances of New Fang, Dead End Friends, Mind Eraser, No Chaser and the hugely popular Spinning In Daffodils. The set was interspersed with interviews with Zane sitting at John Paul’s keyboards. NEWS FLASH-THEM CROOKED VULTURES RADIO 1 SESSION TONIGHT

Them Crooked Vultures feature on a Radio 1 session tonight (Weds 24/03/10). Fresh from the bands success at the Teenage Cancer Trust show at the Royal Albert Hall on Monday night, the group will guest on the Zane Lowe show from the BBC studios at Maida Vale on BBC Radio 1 tonight between 19:00 – 21:00 hrs.

THEM CROOKED VULTURES ALBERT HALL TIGHT BUT LOOSE PRE-GIG MEET

 Next Monday night Them Crooked Vultures will be performing  the opening show of the 2010  Teenage Cancer Trust series of  concerts at the Royal Albert Hall. The  TBL Crew plan to be  in attendance for a pre gig meet. We will be in The Queens Arms pub in Queens Gate Mews, (the same venue as the pre gig meets for Roberts Teenage Cancer Trust show in 2005 and the Page/Plant/Weller Teenage Cancer Trust show in 2002)  from around 5pm onwards and look forward to seeing all those that can make it along. The previously announced Show Of Peace Concert  due to be staged in Beijing next month has been postponed until October 10th 2010. Them Crooked  Vultures continue to add dates to their summer schedule with four more European festival dates announced this week. The festivals are Rock Am Ring, Nurburgring, Germany over the weekend of 4th -6th June, The Hove Festival (Web Link) , Arendal, Norway on June 30th, The Peace & Love Festival (Web Link), Borlange, Sweden on July 1st and The Festivalpladsen (Web Link), Roskilde, Denmark on July 2nd.

TBL NEWS ROUND UP- MORE DATES FOR THE VULTURES, ROBERT PLANT ALBUM NEWS AND STAIRWAY (ANOTHER) COVER VERSION

Following their shows in New York, Charlotte and Atlanta and the appearance on Saturday Night Live last weekend, Them Crooked Vultures have announced two further US shows in April. They play The Joint, Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas, NV on April 17th and The Filmore Auditorium in Denver,CO on April 19th. Tickets for both shows are now on sale.
