Another intensive week spent pouring over matters of the Knebworth variety. This thing seems to have taken on a life of its own.
An exhaustive Knebworth bootleg appendix from Graeme H, a detailed discography on the In Through the Out Door releases by Nick Anderson , some last minute memorabilia stuff from Brian Knapp, all this has taken the word count of the book up to near 80,000. Not bad for an idea that came to me cycling back from town less than six weeks ago! I was also …

Don’t’ quite know what brought it on –maybe sitting through the dreadful Champions League Final (sorry Max!), but next day woke up with the nasty inner ear viral infection causing vertigo and nausea that laid me low back in 2006. Spent the day in bed and even had the Doc out who gave me an injection. (Did I not like that!). Those here know of my complete fear of needles and the like – when it comes to such things I’m the biggest wimp going – a fact confirmed by …

First up Jimmy Page’s custom Orange Matamp was sold in an eBay auction for $30000 last Friday. This was reported to be a 1971 Matamp amplifier, custom built and used and owned by Jimmy Page in the 70’s.

After Adam Lambert’s much talked about version of Whole Lotta Love, two weeks ago on American Idol, this week it was the turn of Britain’s Got Talent and a performance from last years finalist, Escala with a blistering version of Kashmir. Escala are the all female four piece string quartet, who narrowly missed out in last years “Talent” final but immediately secured a £1.5m deal with music mogul Simon Cowell who saw their potential and took them under his wing.

“Happy and I’m smiling,
Walk a mile to drink your water.
Oh, we wont give in,
Lets go living in the past.”
As Jethro Tull once put it so eloquently.
Given recent circumstances it’s been more than a tonic to go living in the past over the last few days or more precisely back to 1979 –the summer of 1979 and the events in a field just outside Stevenage.
To that end I’ve been scribing away on the Knebworth book project I’ve undertaken. I’ve been thinking about how to commemorate the 30th anniversary for …
