Robert Plant made an unannounced appearance at BBC WM’s ‘Bev’s Big Bash’ at the Jam House in Birmingham on 27th October 2009. Robert Plant attended the annual Q Awards on Monday and collected the prestigious “Outstanding Contribution to Music’’ award. His comments after receiving the award, also inadvertently sparked a round of familiar ‘’Zeppelin to reform’’ rumours. The award was presented by Ibrahim from Tinariwen and Bob Harris, and included a video message from Alison Krauss. Bob Harris paid tribute to his friend of forty years. Robert Plant is supporting a campaign to help fund a cancer treatment known as Photodynamic Therapy (PDT). The treatment uses a light sensitive drug that when activated by light with pin point accuracy, knocks out the oxygen supply to the tumour just long enough to kill it. The campaign is being backed by amongst others, Roger Daltrey, Chris Tarrant, Harvey Goldsmith, Bill Curbishley, Sir David Frost and Alex Ferguson.

Robert Plant made a surprise appearance at the annual Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival in Golden Gate Park last Saturday. Robert Plant will join a variety of artists performing never-to-be-repeated collaborations at the Rockwell Event.
The concert is being staged at the 02 Arena on September 11 with all proceeds going to the Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy charity. Alongside Robert, artists such as Razorlight, Joss Stone, David Gray, Tom Jones, Gabriella Cilmi, Danny and Gaz from Supergrass are scheduled to appear.

Robert Plant was spotted at a resent Scott Matthews gig at the Birmingham Glee Club gig on May 19, Robert didn’t join the Scott on stage but did record a track for his latest album “Elsewhere”. The track, 12 Harps, is one of the highlights of the Wolvehampton born singer/songwriters second album. First up Jimmy Page’s custom Orange Matamp was sold in an eBay auction for $30000 last Friday. This was reported to be a 1971 Matamp amplifier, custom built and used and owned by Jimmy Page in the 70’s.
